The right places to linger, feast and enjoy
Alongside the town wall with its winding lanes, charming back yards, defensive towers and strictly guarded town gates, the camps of the “Fähnlein” (squads) and historical groups invite the visitors to linger. Each of these sites, arranged with great enthusiasm and sensitiveness for historical detail, enchants with its own very special atmosphere. Amidst tents, medieval wash-tubs and taverns, participants and guests alike enjoy the merry atmosphere around the campfires. Drums and bagpipes play along, mercenaries perform impressive fighting scenes, their womenfolk dance joyfully and from time to time, another Landsknecht intones in song the honour of his famous captain, Georg von Frundsberg.
